A meeting of the Westwood Deed Restrictions Exploration Committee (DREC) was held on Tuesday, May 14, 2019, at 7:00 pm, in the WWLOA meeting room.
Proposed Article 3G – Detached Garages, RV/Car Ports, Sheds, Workshops and Other Outbuildings was reviewed. Both the version permitting metal buildings and the version prohibiting metal buildings were discussed.
The meeting began with the continuation of the review and discussion of the version allowing metal buildings that was initiated during the previous meeting.
During these two meetings, several suggestions and revisions were discussed and the consensus was to include many of them. The approach to determining a maximum permitted size for outbuildings was established after several options were presented and discussed.
The version allowing metal buildings was finalized.
The version prohibiting metal buildings was then discussed. The version prohibiting metal buildings is the same except for the following:
• Metal is not included as an approved material for the building’s exterior siding.
• The statement: “Metal buildings are strictly prohibited” is included.
